Angel and Shepherd Choir (grades 1-6)  5:00 - 6:00 PM

We are so very thrilled with the efforts of our Children’s Choirs members (and their parents who must get them to rehearsals and to church on time)!

We have already begun working on music for Advent and Christmas! I hate thinking about seasons yet to come so early, but of course it is necessary for those of us who must plan and prepare for the special events to come.

This year we will be singing a different song for the lighting of the Advent Candles. The music for the one we used for many years cannot be located and, though many people do not know it, we are unable to photocopy music unless it is in the public domain or we have permission to photocopy. I have tried all of my sources to fi nd the music, but without any luck.

This year we begin Advent on November 30, so the Children will sing the fi rst verse of “Light One Candle” by Natalie Sleeth. As Advent progresses and we light additional candles, the Children will add additional verses to point up the reasons for the candles. The first Sunday in Advent, we light the candle for hope; the second Sunday the new candle is for peace; the third Sunday the new candle is for joy; and the fourth Sunday the new candle is for love!
