Felicia Smith, Spiritual Director, will present a program on Fasting: A Spiritual Discipline. She will talk about the history of fasting, social/political fasting, and reclaiming fasting as a spiritual discipline. Fasting has traditionally been associated with Lent, so this is good opportunity learn more about this ancient spiritual practice.
Felicia Smith, a native of Indiana and graduate of Purdue University, has lived in Columbia for 36 years. Mother of three sons and grandmother of five, she retired four years ago from the South Carolina Arts Commission where she worked as an arts administrator for twenty years. A cradle Episcopalian, she is an associate of the Order of St. Helena, an Anglican women’s monastic order, and graduate of the Sursum Corda formation program for spiritual directors.
