Each year the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) in our diocese approves three mission projects. I ask your prayers for the 2009 missions:
- The Water and Bread Project in Cange, Haiti – the “Water” is replacing the worn out water system that we helped install 25 years ago, and the “Bread” is a vocational school that will help people get training in agriculture and other fields locally. Pray for Father LaFontane and the people of Cange. Pray also for the school children, teachers and parents in Chapateau. Our parish participates indirectly in the “Bread” project by helping children in primary grades. Some of them will go on to the vocational school.
- A “Jericho House” in New Orleans, Louisiana – the National ECW Triennial 2009 Project to build one house there. Pray for Bishop Charles Jenkins and the people of New Orleans. Pray also for the staff and volunteers of Home Works and for the people whose homes are repaired. This is a similar program that our parish already supports.
- Completing the Chapel of the Transfiguration at Bishop Gravatt Center – this beautiful chapel is almost complete. Pray for the staff, campers and everyone who will worship in this chapel. Pray also for member of our men’s club who raise funds to help send campers to Camp Gravatt.
Please keep these people and programs in your prayers until next February when the ECW delegates will approve new projects.
